Coffee Game Strong with Starbucks Ethiopia Mocca Java

Image
It was pure luck that I would spy a bag of Starbucks Ethiopia Mocca Java  sitting on the counter all by itself last Saturday while making an iced tea run. I didn't come for coffee, wasn't looking for anything new to try and stumbled upon what has been keeping me moving all week long. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging.  I thought, "have I tried this coffee before."  And then I thought, "No, actually I've never had this coffee." Then I noticed the note that said "limited time only."  Apparently this blend is only available for a short period of time at select Starbucks stores. It's smoky and bold and can really stand up to a splash of heavy cream.  For the true coffee lover. 9.99 for an 8.8 ounce bag. I hope you're lucky too and find this coffee before it's gone.

Philz Coffee - "One Cup at a Time" (Easy Does It)

Image
The more I "mature," the more I realize that I need to slow down.  I've always had a hard time doing things slowly.  I have to keep telling myself, "Slow and steady wins the race." My newest weekly exercise  is to go to Philz Coffee at least once a week.  There, I have to actually wait in what is usually a long line (it's very popular) for the baristas to make each cup individually .  "One cup at a time." For someone who is constantly "multi-tasking" it can be trying.  Old habits die hard. I've found that it forces me to pay attention to people around me, take a deep breath, admire various tattoos and pay closer attention to the people who take such care to prepare these amazing cups of coffee.  "One cup at a time." I leave with a wonderful cup of custom-brewed coffee and a better appreciation for the coffee craftspeople. I've got way more time than money.

Marley Coffee's "Lively Up!" Every Little Thing is Gonna Be Alright*

Image
Amazing what we can learn from Twitter.   Someone tweeted a couple of weeks ago about Marley Coffee's " Lively Up " Blend.  Naturally, I had to try it. Totally loving it.  Organic, espresso roast, smooth, no aftertaste and just the right kick.  If there is any "downside," it would be that at 9.99 for an eight ounce bag of beans (plus shipping), it's a little on the "pricey" side.  But, hey it's all good. *"Every Little Thing Is Gonna Be Alright" - " Three Little Birds " from Bob Marley

Aloha! "Hangin' Loose" here Sipping Kona Joe's Trellis Grown Coffee

Image
Aloha! What a beautiful morning!  Sitting here on the balcony, looking at the blue water and the sandy beach.   A steaming hot cup of Kona Joe in my hand.  Life is good.  Just kidding.   I'm sitting at home and it's raining outside.  I'm not in Hawaii.  My sister went there for two weeks and she brought me back a bag of the "real deal" Kona.  That would be, " Kona Joe's" Trellis Grown Coffee .   To be honest, I've had Kona coffee many times.  Sometimes it's good and sometimes I think that somebody got "hoodwinked" when they bought it.  Sometimes that person has been me. But, this is the good stuff!  So good that you might think you're in Hawaii.  Even when you're not. If you can't get to Hawaii, no problem.  Hang loose.  Kona Joe will come to you.  Available online at www.konajoe.com Back to the beach now.
