"Do Fries Go With That Shake?" *

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when my barista offered me a sample packet of Starbucks Via Ready Brew Columbia to go with my Greek Yogurt and Honey Parfait.

Even though this product will not be available until September 29, it's already created quite a "buzz" (pardon the pun).

This is my second sample - the first was an Italian Roast (rich, bold, excellent) and the Columbia is milder but still surprisingly good for "instant coffee."

This is what Starbucks says about their new product:

    Now, this is what I'm talking about!!! I can throw one of those in my lunch bag on my way to work, fill my Starbucks mug with hot water at the office, after I'm settled in my cubie and it's off to the races for the day without worrying about my java getting cold while I'm going through my emails and other incidentals to beginning the workday!! This can save as much as 10 minutes each morning - no waiting in line for my cup of vente!

All Time Favorite Coffee Jingles

I have consumed a lot of coffee over the last couple of decades, but it's mainly through "trial and error," "word of mouth," or "pure luck," that I found those I've enjoyed the most. And, of course, the folks who reach out and let me know about the great coffees that are out there. But with micro roasters becoming more and more popular, and grocery store coffee being talked about less, even though many supermarket varieties are very good, I can't help but remember some of those jingles and television commercials that remain etched in my mind.
