Coffee and CupKates

The only thing better than cupcakes is cupcakes and coffee.

I scored a double with a "Smores" cupcake from CupKates( TM) (not a typo) and a cup of Blue Bottle (TM) coffee.

I just happened to pass by the CupKates truck on 4th Street in Berkeley on Sunday on my way to Tacubaya for brunch where they not only make some of the best Mexican food in the Bay, but serve only Blue Bottle coffee.

All Time Favorite Coffee Jingles

I have consumed a lot of coffee over the last couple of decades, but it's mainly through "trial and error," "word of mouth," or "pure luck," that I found those I've enjoyed the most. And, of course, the folks who reach out and let me know about the great coffees that are out there. But with micro roasters becoming more and more popular, and grocery store coffee being talked about less, even though many supermarket varieties are very good, I can't help but remember some of those jingles and television commercials that remain etched in my mind.
