Monday Morning Grind. Actually, Monday Morning Ground with Starbucks Sumatra

I recently celebrated another birthday and one of the promises I made to myself was do things differently.  Sometimes.  Just change it up and step outside of my comfort zone. 

 So, when I caught this Starbucks Sumatra (ground) on sale at Target this past weekend, I decided that I should break from my "self-imposed rule" of only buying coffee in beans.  

 It was clear from the shelf that Target sells a lot of this stuff and there was no reason to believe that it wouldn't be fresh.  

 Besides, it's one of my favorite roasts and I know it's not going to stick around the pantry for long.  I went for it and I'm glad I did.

 This might not seem like such a big deal to you but for somebody like me, who tends to be a bit on the "anal" side, I think it's a step in the right direction.

    I definitely still go with whole bean over pre-ground coffee, but sometimes you just can't beat a sale and an extra star!

All Time Favorite Coffee Jingles

I have consumed a lot of coffee over the last couple of decades, but it's mainly through "trial and error," "word of mouth," or "pure luck," that I found those I've enjoyed the most. And, of course, the folks who reach out and let me know about the great coffees that are out there. But with micro roasters becoming more and more popular, and grocery store coffee being talked about less, even though many supermarket varieties are very good, I can't help but remember some of those jingles and television commercials that remain etched in my mind.
