If you happen to be near Cleveland, Tennessee, you will want to add Bonlife Coffee Company to your list of places to go.
Bonlife sent me a sample of their "Freedom Blend" which is a medium roast coffee, described on their website as:
"Ethiopian earthiness and floral notes mix nicely with Sumatran fruit and spice in this complex, nuanced cup"
It's a good cup of coffee. Medium body and quite pleasant.
If you're not near Cleveland, Tennessee, despair not, you can order their coffees and accessories online at:
AND, if you're not shopping for coffee, check out their website anyway. Amazing stories and photos.
Not your average cup of joe.
Have a great weekend!

Is it me or are K-cups getting better?
"Kick it up a notch." The "Emeril's Big Easy" dark-roast, K-Cup is for the person, who like me, enjoys getting their bold on!
EXTREMELY enjoyable. I'm not kidding. One of the best K-Cups(TM) I've had.
Goes down easy (pun intended).
RRRRRRR is for ROAST and this one is roasted just right, measured to perfection and brews up nicely in the Keurig.
Available at Cross Country Cafe.

Complimentary full cups of tea for all visitors Saturday, August 25
San Francisco, CA (August 21, 2012) – To celebrate its West Coast debut, DAVIDsTEA will offer free cups of tea to all who visit its new store in Russian Hill (2123 Polk Street) on Saturday, August 25, 2012. With more than 150 varieties and some never-before-seen flavors, DAVIDsTEA offers teas loose by the ounce and to-go by the cup (hot or iced), in a friendly environment, by well-informed, passionate staff. The company plans to open two more Bay Area stores in September. In addition to its Russian Hill location, DAVIDsTEA will open shops in Noe Valley (3870 24th Street) and Burlingame (1400 Burlingame Ave), which will also serve free tea on opening day.
Since its first shop opened in 2008 on Toronto’s Queen Street, DAVIDsTEA has developed an enthusiastic following, growing to more than 75 shops across Canada. In 2011, the two Manhattan shops – on gourmet Bleecker Street and on the fashionable Upper East Side – brought this unique take on tea to the U.S.'s attention, with NBC's Today Show hailing “teas that take a twist on traditional” and Food & Wine giving a shout out to DAVIDsTEA’s North African Mint, flavored with fennel and black pepper, as “1 of 50 ways to get stronger, smarter and healthier.”
DAVIDsTEA is known for its exclusive signature blends, names like Read My Lips, a black tea with chocolate, vanilla, mint and red candy lips, and Goji Pop, a bright red fruit infusion packed with goji berries. Customers can look for blends with exotic, non-traditional tea ingredients like mulberry leaves, hot chilies, pomegranate seeds, kombucha powder and caramel pieces, and cheeky names like Kiwi’s Big Adventure and Simply the Zest. DAVIDsTEA also carries a wide selection of premium traditional estate teas, like wood-fired Sencha Ashikubo and Nepal Black, a DAVIDsTEA exclusive. And for a true feel-good cup, all proceeds of the Haitian-inspired KANPE Tea (a blend of hibiscus, mango, cinnamon, papaya, banana, coconut and stevia) go towards the KANPE organization, dedicated to long-term relief in Haiti. Finally, Californians should also appreciate the Gold Rush tea, a blend of white tea, golden mulberries and coconut.

I've said many times here how much I love Guatemalan Coffee.
I've said more than once how much I love Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
But, I've never told you how much I love Stumptown Coffee's Guatemala Finca Semillero - Tekisic.
Grown at an elevation of 1550 meters this Latin American coffee brings out the best of a floral blend with a chocolate tone.
It won't last forever, so don't tarry, get yours today at:
Makes me wanna "STUMP!"

In honor of what would have been Julia Child's 100th birthday, I baked a batch of homemade blueberry muffins this morning.
They're not puff pastry, but for a Wednesday, it's not a bad effort, right?
These muffins go so well paired with a hot cup of coffee. For me, it's San Francisco Blend from Martha & Bros. Coffee.
This is what I like to call a "double-header."
Although, now that I think about it, I probably should have brewed a French roast. There's only one solution - I'll have to eat another muffin and brew a pot of French Roast!

As many of you know, last night was the series finale of the TNT series, "The Closer."
It held special meaning for me because when my mother was dying from cancer a few years ago, one of the few things I looked forward to during this period, when I wasn't looking forward to the inevitable, was Monday nights.
It meant enjoying a good cup of coffee (sometimes tea)while watching, "The Closer."
How ironic that in the next to the last episode Brenda Lee Johnson's (Kyra Sedgwick) mother died.
I also like candy - a lot - just like Brenda Lee Johnson.
That one hour escape on Monday nights probably helped save my sanity and provide a small bit of comfort. Funny how a television series based on a homicide unit could do that, huh?
Sometimes it's the little things that bring us a tiny bit of relief.
I'm going to miss "The Closer." Now, I just have to wait for the final season to be released on DVD.
TNT - thanks for the good times.

This is one of my top five favorite Jamaica Blue Mountain coffees.
One of the Exotic, Rare and Exquisite Coffees from the Starbucks Reserve (TM) Collection.
At $30 bucks for an eight ounce bag, it isn't cheap, but sure is worth it. The perfect balance of flavors, topped off with a chocolate finish.
Life is short. And time is limited for this coffee. So, miss out.

I'm no stranger to Martha & Bros. Coffees but I had forgotten just how much I enjoy this particular blend.
Picked up a pound last week and it's almost gone!
This "specialty blend" is a medium roast with hints of chocolate. Me love chocolate tones.
"Martha’s award-winning, exclusive blend combines Indonesian and Central American beans –each roasted separately – to yield the perfect cup of coffee."
Martha & Bros has cafes all over San Francisco and offers a full selection of beans available to order online for your coffee enjoyment.

"Cold Brew" is all the rage. But you don't have to brew your own or find a shop that uses the cold press method. That is, if you're a New Yorker.
Birch Coffee is an independent coffee shop on East 27th Street (in the Gershwin Hotel). But you don't have to go there to get a "cold brew" because Birch makes local deliveries of their jugs of cold-brewed iced coffee directly to your door.
Now, that's what I call service. Check out this cute video!
